👑 Auto Godfather OG Feminised Seeds — The Don on a Fixed Timeline
Auto Godfather OG feminised seeds carry the XXX OG × Alpha OG genetics of the 2013 Cannabis Cup Best Indica winner on a fixed 70–75 day seed-to-harvest timeline that flowers automatically without a light schedule change. The Ruderalis cross reduces yield and THC relative to the photoperiod — real-world grows produce ~18–22% versus 22–28% for the photoperiod, and indoor yield sits at up to 400 g/m² versus 450–550 g/m². What it preserves is the OG character: the earthy pine and grape terpene profile, the deep full-body sedation that builds fast, and the dense resinous bud structure that makes Godfather OG distinctive.
Why choose the auto over the photoperiod: The fixed timeline is the whole reason to run this version. If you can't manage a 12/12 light flip — outdoor grows without light control, balcony setups, discreet situations — the photoperiod requires seasonal day length to trigger flowering. The auto doesn't. Germinate when conditions suit, harvest 70–75 days later. For indoor perpetual setups the fixed cycle allows staggered harvests without managing separate veg and flower environments. The compact 60–90 cm height is also a practical advantage where space or concealment matters.
What the Ruderalis cross costs — be clear-eyed about this: The auto version is not a substitution for the photoperiod. THC drops from 22–28% to ~18–22%. The sedative effect is real and present but noticeably lighter than the photoperiod at equivalent doses. The OG terpene profile carries through reasonably well with a proper flush and cure, but the intensity is reduced. This is the right strain when the timeline or grow situation makes the photoperiod impractical — not when maximum potency is the brief.
What Auto Godfather OG does well:
- OG terpene profile: The earthy pine, grape, and diesel character carries through the Ruderalis cross — with a proper cure the flavour is recognisably Godfather OG
- Deep body effect: At ~18–22% THC with myrcene-dominant terpenes, the sedative and analgesic effect is still substantial — lighter than the photoperiod but in a different category to most autos
- Season flexibility: Plant spring through early autumn in Australia and harvest on a fixed 70–75 day schedule — two outdoor runs per season achievable
- Compact footprint: 60–90 cm suits small indoor tents, balcony grows, and discreet outdoor situations
- Multiple indoor cycles: 4–5 complete runs annually achievable with the fixed timeline
- No light management: Flowers on any schedule — 18/6, 20/4, natural outdoor light
Temperature sensitivity carries through: One thing the Ruderalis cross doesn't eliminate is Godfather OG's sensitivity to heat in flower. The terpene and resin expression of the auto still suffers above 25°C during the flowering phase. If the photoperiod version requires temperature management, so does this one.
👑 Auto Godfather OG Effects & Experience
Onset (10–20 minutes): The OG genetics come through first — a warm euphoric lift, mood brightening, a brief window of pleasant mental clarity before the indica dominance asserts itself. Faster onset than most indicas, consistent with the Godfather OG parentage.
Early phase (20–45 minutes): Body relaxation begins spreading systematically. Muscle tension releases, pain signals decrease, physical ease arrives without force. At moderate doses this is still functional — more so than the photoperiod version at equivalent consumption. The auto's reduced THC means the sedation builds more gradually.
Mid-phase (45–90 minutes): The indica genetics take over. Body relaxation is deep and complete at this stage. Mental engagement decreases. The couch is the natural destination. Pain relief is at its most effective in this window — the myrcene-dominant profile amplifies the sedative uptake.
Late-phase (90–150 minutes): Full body sedation. Sleep follows naturally for most users at typical doses. Appetite increases strongly. The progression is gradual rather than abrupt — no harsh comedown.
Duration: 2.5–4 hours at typical doses. Shorter than the photoperiod at equivalent consumption, consistent with the reduced THC. No notable next-day grogginess at moderate use.
Potency consideration: At ~18–22% THC, Auto Godfather OG is solid-to-strong by auto standards but noticeably lighter than the photoperiod. Experienced users familiar with the photoperiod version will register the difference. For users coming to Godfather OG genetics for the first time, or those whose tolerance doesn't require the full photoperiod potency, the auto is genuinely effective. The myrcene-heavy terpene profile still punches above the raw THC percentage.
Flavour profile: Earthy pine with grape and diesel undertones — the classic OG character. The grape note that distinguishes Godfather OG from other OG Kush derivatives is present in the auto, though slightly less pronounced than in the photoperiod. With a proper flush and 4-week cure the terpene expression sharpens. Don't smoke it fresh — the flavour isn't fully developed until the cure is complete.
Common uses (anecdotal): Evening and night-time relaxation, chronic pain management, insomnia support, stress relief, appetite stimulation. The same use cases as the photoperiod but at a slightly more accessible potency level. Not a daytime or functional strain.
🌱 Growing Auto Godfather OG Feminised Seeds — Complete Guide
(The following is provided for ACT licence holders and growers in legal jurisdictions overseas.)
Experience level required: Intermediate. Auto Godfather OG is not beginner-friendly — the OG genetics carry nutrient sensitivity into the auto version, and the fixed timeline means early mistakes carry through to harvest without recovery time. The current page describes it as "forgiving" for less experienced growers. That's not accurate. It's manageable for growers with some auto experience who respect the setup requirements, but it will punish overfeeding, transplanting, and heat stress as readily as the photoperiod parent.
Critical auto rules — before anything else:
- Start in the final container. Germinate directly into the pot the plant will finish in — 10–15 L indoors, 15–20 L outdoors. Transplanting costs 5–7 days the fixed timeline cannot recover
- No transplanting. Non-negotiable
- Feed light in the first three weeks. Start at 1/4 strength and build slowly. OG genetics show nutrient stress faster than robust ruderalis-dominant autos
- Manage temperature. Keep below 25°C in flower — the terpene and resin sensitivity of Godfather OG genetics carries through into the auto version
Flowering: Auto Godfather OG initiates flowering at 3–4 weeks from germination regardless of light cycle. Seed to harvest runs approximately 70–75 days. Check trichomes from week 9. Harvest at 25–30% amber for maximum sedative effect — don't harvest early, the body effect develops in the final week.
Height and structure: Compact at 60–90 cm with moderate stretch in early flower — 25–40% height increase typical. Bushy OG structure with multiple lateral branches and reasonable bud site density. LST from week 2–3 opens the canopy and improves yield meaningfully. The compact footprint makes it practical for small tents and discreet outdoor grows.
Training:
LST (Low-Stress Training): The only recommended approach. Begin tying down the main stem at 2–3 weeks to open the canopy and expose lateral bud sites. The bushy OG structure responds well to LST — more productive bud sites to expose than with single-cola auto genetics.
Topping: Not recommended. The fixed timeline doesn't allow recovery from the stress. Some experienced growers FIM at week 2 with acceptable results but the risk-reward doesn't favour it.
Defoliation: Minimal only — remove leaves directly blocking bud sites in early flower. Don't strip the canopy during the fixed timeline.
Feeding strategy:
Seedling (days 1–14):
- Plain water or 1/4 strength maximum — do not feed full strength
- OG genetics in an auto format show overfeeding stress faster than most ruderalis-heavy autos
Early veg / pre-flower (days 14–28):
- Build to 1/2 strength by week 3
- EC range: 0.8–1.2
- Watch tips — any browning signals to back off before damage accumulates
Flower (days 28–65):
- Transition to bloom nutrients — reduce nitrogen, build phosphorus and potassium
- EC range: 1.2–1.6 — don't push higher
- Potassium support from week 5 improves resin density and terpene expression
Final flush (last 7–10 days):
- Plain pH-adjusted water only
- Important for OG terpene expression — the grape and pine profile is cleaner after a proper flush
Climate:
Temperature:
- 22–26°C through veg and early flower
- Keep below 25°C in mid-to-late flower — same temperature sensitivity as the photoperiod
- Cool nights (18–20°C) in the final two weeks improve terpene expression
Humidity:
- Seedling: 60–70% RH
- Veg: 50–60% RH
- Flower: 40–50% RH, dropping to 40–45% in late flower
- The dense OG bud structure is vulnerable in high humidity — don't let it creep above 50% from week 4
Light:
- 18/6 is the standard indoor schedule — flowers on any cycle
- 20/4 marginally better for yield at the cost of electricity
- PPFD targets: 400–500 µmol/m²/s early, 600–800 µmol/m²/s in flower
- Outdoors: full sun, 6+ hours direct light minimum
Common issues:
Overfeeding early: The most common problem. OG genetics show nutrient stress faster than ruderalis-heavy autos — tip burn in weeks 1–3 costs the plant development time it can't recover. Start at 1/4 strength and watch the tips.
Temperature in flower: The resin and terpene quality suffers above 25°C. If you can't hold below this in summer, either run this strain in cooler months or choose a less temperature-sensitive auto.
Transplanting: Don't. Start in the final container. This costs more yield than any other single mistake.
Bud rot: The dense OG bud structure is vulnerable in humid conditions. Maintain airflow and keep RH below 50% from week 4.
🏠 Indoor Growing (Australia)
- Seed to harvest: 70–75 days fixed — no light flip required
- Yield: Up to 400 g/m² under good lighting with LST
- Container: Start and finish in 10–15 L — no transplanting
- Light schedule: 18/6 recommended — flowers on any schedule
- Height: 60–90 cm — suits tents from 60 cm × 60 cm upward
- Training: LST from week 2–3 — the bushy OG structure responds well
- Temperature: Keep below 25°C in flower — non-negotiable for terpene and resin quality
- Cycles per year: 4–5 complete runs annually
🌿 Outdoor Growing (Southern Hemisphere / Australia)
- Harvest timing: ~70–75 days from planting — not season-dependent. Plant September through March for warm-weather runs
- Yield: 80–150 g per plant — compact size limits total production
- Container: 15–20 L minimum — start in the final pot, no transplanting
- Site: Full sun, 6+ hours direct light, good drainage, airflow around the plant
- Multiple runs: Two outdoor runs per season achievable — plant September for December harvest, plant January for late-March harvest
- Climate suitability: Warmer, drier climates suit the dense OG bud structure. Coastal Queensland and NSW require careful humidity management from week 4 of flower
- Weather planning: The fixed timeline lets you plan around seasonal conditions — a January planting in most states targets a late-March harvest before autumn rains arrive
🗓️ Auto Godfather OG Week-by-Week Grow Guide
Auto Godfather OG runs on a fixed 70–75 day timeline. The OG genetics make it more demanding than ruderalis-heavy autos — setup before germination matters more than problem-solving during the grow.
| Phase / Week | What's Happening | Key Actions | Watch Out For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–2 Seedling |
Taproot establishing. First true leaves emerging. The OG bushy structure begins showing early. | Plain water or 1/4 strength feed only. 18/6 light. Humidity 60–70% RH. Final container from day one. | Overwatering and overfeeding — the two most common early mistakes. Water in a ring around the seedling, not over it. Do not feed full strength. |
| Weeks 3–4 Early veg / pre-flower |
Rapid vegetative growth. Pre-flowers appear around day 21–28. Bushy lateral branching developing. | Begin gentle LST from week 2–3. Build to 1/2 strength nutrients by week 3. EC range 0.8–1.2. Maintain 50–60% RH. | Don't top or FIM. Any significant stress costs development time the fixed timeline won't recover. Watch for tip burn — OG genetics show nutrient stress faster than ruderalis-dominant autos. |
| Weeks 5–7 Early-mid flower |
Buds stacking. The earthy pine and grape OG aroma begins building from week 5. Height gain mostly complete by week 6. | Transition to bloom nutrients. EC range 1.2–1.6. Carbon filter essential from week 5. Reduce RH to 45–50%. Temperature management critical — keep below 25°C. | Heat — above 25°C in flower the terpene and resin quality suffers visibly. This is the most important variable to manage with Godfather OG genetics in any format. Keep airflow through the dense canopy. |
| Weeks 8–9 Late flower |
Buds fattening. Purple hues developing in the flowers. Trichome production at peak. Pistils darkening. | Check trichomes from day 56. Drop RH to 40–45%. Cool nights to 18–20°C for terpene expression and purple colour development. Begin flush when 10–15% amber visible. | Don't harvest early — the body effect develops in the final week. Chopping at mostly cloudy trichomes misses the sedative depth the OG genetics produce. Wait for 25–30% amber. |
| Days 63–75 Flush & harvest |
Final ripening. Natural leaf yellowing. Dense resinous colas with visible purple trichome coverage. | Plain pH-adjusted water for 7–10 days. Harvest at 25–30% amber. Slow dry at 15–18°C, 55–60% RH for 10–14 days. | Rushing the dry — the OG terpene profile is volatile. A fast dry at high temperature destroys the grape and pine character you've spent 10+ weeks developing. |
| Post-harvest Cure |
The grape note in the OG terpene profile develops in the jar. Don't smoke this fresh — the flavour isn't representative of the genetics until a proper cure is complete. | Jar at 60–65% RH. Burp daily for two weeks. Seal and wait. 4 weeks minimum. 6–8 weeks noticeably better. | Opening the jars early. Fresh-harvested Auto Godfather OG doesn't taste like Godfather OG. Properly cured material does. The cure is non-negotiable with OG genetics. |
🔍 Auto Godfather OG — Common Myths vs Reality
| The Myth | The Reality |
|---|---|
| "Auto Godfather OG is beginner-friendly." | The current page describes it this way — it's not accurate. The OG genetics carry nutrient sensitivity into the auto version, and the fixed timeline means mistakes in the first three weeks follow you to harvest. A robust ruderalis-dominant auto is genuinely more forgiving. This one requires intermediate experience and careful setup before germination. |
| "Auto Godfather OG delivers the same potency as the photoperiod." | It doesn't — and setting that expectation leads to disappointment. ~18–22% THC versus 22–28% for the photoperiod is a real and noticeable difference, particularly for users seeking the deep narcotic sedation Godfather OG is known for. The auto is a solid indica with genuine therapeutic effect, but it's a different experience to the photoperiod at equivalent doses. |
| "Autos don't need temperature management." | Godfather OG's sensitivity to heat carries through the Ruderalis cross. Above 25°C in flower, the terpene and resin quality suffers visibly — same as the photoperiod. If your grow space runs warm in summer, this auto requires the same cooling management as the full-size version. |
| "Auto Godfather OG finishes in 9–10 weeks from seed." | 70–75 days (10–11 weeks) is the accurate range. Some listings quote 9 weeks to make the timeline sound faster. Harvesting at 9 weeks typically means underdeveloped body effect — the OG sedation develops in the final week. Check trichomes, not the calendar, and wait for 25–30% amber. |
| "The flavour is the same as the photoperiod fresh off the dry." | Fresh-harvested Auto Godfather OG tastes like a decent indica — not like Godfather OG. The characteristic grape and pine OG terpene expression develops during the cure. A 4–6 week cure in sealed jars transforms the flavour from generic into recognisably OG. This step is not optional. |
🧠 Jason's Tip — Growing Auto Godfather OG
The two things that consistently produce disappointing results with this auto: running it too warm in flower, and harvesting too early.
On temperature — Godfather OG genetics are more heat-sensitive than most strains regardless of whether it's the auto or photoperiod. I've seen growers run this at 27–28°C in summer thinking "it's an auto, it'll handle it" and the terpene expression in the final product was noticeably inferior to the same genetics run cool. If your setup pushes above 25°C in summer, wait until autumn to run this strain or sort the cooling first. The grape and pine terpene character that makes Godfather OG worth growing comes through properly only in a well-controlled environment.
On harvest timing — this auto runs toward the longer end of its window and the body effect develops in the final week. I've had growers chop at day 63 because "the hairs are mostly orange" and wonder why it doesn't hit like Godfather OG. The trichomes are the benchmark, not the pistils. Wait for 25–30% amber under a loupe — then you get the full OG sedation the genetics are capable of.
On the cure: 4 weeks minimum, 6–8 weeks ideal. The grape note in the OG terpene profile doesn't fully express until the cure is well underway. Fresh material is decent. Properly cured material is recognisably Godfather OG. Don't rush it.

| THC | ~18–22% | 22–28% |
| Height | 60–90 cm | 80–180 cm |
| Light schedule | Any schedule — no flip | 12/12 to flower |
| Best for | Fixed timeline, compact grows, season flexibility | Maximum potency and therapeutic effect |
Choose the auto if you need a fixed timeline, compact height, or outdoor season flexibility without light management. Choose the Godfather OG Feminised if maximum potency, therapeutic depth, and the full Cup-winning OG genetics expression are the priority.
👑 Is Auto Godfather OG Right for Your Grow?
✅ Auto Godfather OG is the right choice if:
- You need a fixed seed-to-harvest timeline without managing a 12/12 light flip
- You're growing outdoors without light control — balcony, shared space, or guerrilla grow

- You have the setup to manage a 12/12 flip and a controlled grow environment
👑 Real User Experiences
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The potency surprised me for an auto — still very much an OG body effect, just slightly lighter than the photoperiod version I've grown before. Dense buds, heavy resin, and after a 6-week cure the grape and pine flavour was genuine. One of the best autos I've run." — Indoor grower, Melbourne
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I use this for chronic pain management and the auto version fits my situation better than the photoperiod — I can't manage a light flip in my setup. The pain relief is real and effective, just not quite as intense as the full-size version. Good trade for the convenience." — Medical user, NSW
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Planted in October, harvested day 73 from seed. Around 120g per plant outdoors in large pots. The purple colouration developed strongly in the March nights even at compact height. Properly cured it tastes and smells like Godfather OG — earthy, piney, the grape note comes through clearly." — Outdoor grower, SA
⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Compact, fast, and effective for sleep. Not the same as the photoperiod but a solid strain in its own right. The key is not rushing it — I let mine go to day 76 and the body effect was significantly better than plants I'd seen harvested at day 65." — Indoor grower, Brisbane
❓ Frequently Asked Questions — Auto Godfather OG Feminised Seeds
👑 What is Auto Godfather OG?
Auto Godfather OG feminised seeds are an autoflowering version of the 2013 Cannabis Cup Best Indica winner — a Godfather OG (XXX OG × Alpha OG) cross with Ruderalis genetics that triggers flowering automatically at 3–4 weeks from germination regardless of light cycle. Seed to harvest runs approximately 70–75 days on a fixed timeline. The characteristic OG terpene profile — earthy pine, grape, diesel — carries through with a proper flush and cure.
⏱ How long does Auto Godfather OG take from seed to harvest?
Approximately 70–75 days (10–11 weeks) from germination. This is a fixed timeline — the plant flowers and finishes on its own schedule. Most phenotypes hit the harvest window between day 68 and day 78. Check trichomes from week 9 and harvest at 25–30% amber — don't harvest early, the OG body effect develops in the final week.
🔥 How does the potency compare to the photoperiod Godfather OG?
Noticeably lower — ~18–22% THC versus 22–28% for the photoperiod. The difference is real and matters particularly for users seeking the deep narcotic sedation the full-size Godfather OG is known for. The auto is a solid and effective indica, but it's a different experience at equivalent doses. If maximum therapeutic potency is the priority, the Godfather OG Feminised photoperiod is the right choice.
🌱 Is Auto Godfather OG easy to grow?
Intermediate — not beginner-friendly despite what some sources suggest. The OG genetics carry nutrient sensitivity into the auto version, and the fixed timeline means early mistakes (overfeeding, overwatering, transplanting) follow through to harvest without recovery time. Growers with some auto experience who respect the setup requirements will do well. First-time growers would be better served starting with a more ruderalis-dominant auto.
🌡️ Does Auto Godfather OG need temperature management in flower?
Yes — this is the most important point most people miss. Godfather OG's sensitivity to heat carries through the Ruderalis cross. Above 25°C in flower the terpene and resin quality suffers visibly, same as the photoperiod. If your grow space runs warm in summer, either run this strain in cooler months or address the temperature management before germinating.
🪴 Can I transplant Auto Godfather OG?
No. Germinate directly into the final container — 10–15 L indoors, 15–20 L outdoors. Transplanting causes stress during the fixed timeline the plant cannot recover from. Plan your container before the seed goes in.
🌤 Can I grow Auto Godfather OG outdoors in Australia year-round?
Spring through early autumn works best — September through March in most states. The auto finishes in 70–75 days regardless of season but cold winter temperatures reduce yield and light intensity slows vegetative development. Queensland and Northern NSW can push the season further. Victoria, SA, and Tasmania should stick to the warmer months.
🍇 Does Auto Godfather OG taste like the photoperiod?
With a proper cure — yes, recognisably. The OG terpene character (earthy pine, grape, diesel) carries through the Ruderalis cross with a proper flush and 4–6 week cure in sealed jars. Fresh-harvested material doesn't represent the genetics well. The cure is non-negotiable with OG genetics in any format.

So far 1 seed planted and germinated looking the goods so far
The yield was very good for an auto. After cure, taste got a bit sweeter but still had that OG smell. High starts nice in the head, then goes heavy in the body, perfect for relaxing at night. I would grow this strain again for sure.
